Job Summary
SINC Underground Services Inc is a telecommunications contractor providing horizontal directional drilling and utility installation services. Our operations within Canada is currently recruiting for experienced:
Mainline Directional Drillers/Locators
Drops (Pathways) Drillers/Locators
We are seeking candidates who are punctual, have strong work ethic and want to work as part of a team. Travel throughout Canada may be required on a rotational basis. Candidates will be responsible for finding there own accommodations which is compensated with LOA. Applicants must be safety-oriented individuals with a positive attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drilling and/or locating to specifications on maps or customer specs
Daily reporting of activities
Managing drilling crew
Maintenance and inspections of equipment
Driver logs and trip inspections
Working in city environments
Courses that would be considered an asset:
Ground Disturbance
First Aid
CSTS
Experience Required
Preference given to drillers/locators with relevant experience, willing to train qualified candidate
Knowledge and Skills Required
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation
Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to: carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels)
Self-disciplined, motivated and organized
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license with a G-Endorsement for Heavy Trailer (preference given to Class 1 or Class 3)
Clean driver’s abstract
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required
Travel as required
The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check

Hydrovac Operator
Job Summary
SINC Underground Services Inc is a telecommunications contractor providing horizontal directional drilling and utility installation services. Our operations within Western Canada has a need for experienced Hydrovac Operators.
This position entails travelling from town to town; the successful candidate is responsible to find own accommodations which are compensated with LOA.
Applicants must have a valid drivers license (Class 1 or 3), clean abstract and ability to pass a criminal records check.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform debris removal, slot trenching, daylighting and digging
Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding mat procedures for Hydrovac operations
Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner
Monitor and maintain all Hydrovac equipment; ensure all components are in good working order and adhering to maintenance schedules
Complete all required paperwork properly on a daily basis
Ensure proper function by performing pre and post trip inspections and general housekeeping - report any inefficiencies to Supervisor
Complete and maintain Driver Logs per DOT Regulations
Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment
Follow all policies and procedures set out by SINC and manufacturer
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or crew leader
Experience Required
Experience operating a Hydrovac in urban and rural settings an asset
Previous experience in the telecommunication industry considered an asset
Knowledge of ELD based systems is considered an asset
Certification in First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Confined Spaces
Knowledge and Skills Required

Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere, must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs+

Labourer
Job Summary
SINC Underground is a telecommunications contractor providing horizontal directional drilling and utility installation services. Our operations within Western Canada has a need for experienced and motivated Labourers/ Construction workers.
This position entails travelling from town to town; the successful candidate is responsible to find own accommodations which is compensated with LOA.
Applicants with a valid drivers license with a clean abstract will be given preference and ability to pass a criminal records check.
Duties and Responsibilities
Load and unload materials, equipment, cable trailers and move materials in work areas
Pull fibre through conduit to pedestals
Install/replace pedestals and cabinets
Perform testing and troubleshooting if required
Direct traffic and carry out other traffic management activities as needed
Maintain tools and equipment as per manufacturer’s specifications
Excavation by hand where necessary
Maintain clean and safe work sites; remove debris and trash at construction sites
Manual labour shoveling, digging, back-filling etc.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or crew leader
Preferred Experience
Labourer experience in ground work construction is an asset but will train the right candidates
Experience and handling requirements of working with fibre optics considered a major asset
Working in city environments
